PAEDIATRIC OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST

Amanda is an Occupational Therapist registered with AHPRA. Amanda has a Master of Occupational Therapy from the University of Sydney and has over 5 years experiences working as an OT. Amanda has worked with a wide range of children including children with Autism Spectrum Disorders, Genetic Conditions, Developmental Coordination Disorder, Learning Difficulties, Sensory Processing Disorders and Handwriting Difficulties.

Prior to working at PosAbility Amanda worked as a paediatric OT in pre-school settings and not-for-profit organisations for children and young people with disabilities. Amanda continues to work across a number of settings, supporting children, adolescents and young people with a range of disabilities and developmental needs. Amanda has worked with a diverse caseload within numerous settings providing clinic-based services as well as home visits, pre-school and school-based appointments. Amanda has also provided individual and group programs alongside of psychology, speech pathology, physiotherapy and teaching professionals to create holistic, tailored OT programs to suit your child’s needs.

Amanda has a passion for assisting children reach their full potential and strives to teach children how to complete tasks with confidence and independence so they can competently participate in everyday activities at home and at school.

Amanda provides the following services at PosAbility:

• Formal occupational therapy assessments.
• Occupational therapy sessions to develop: fine motor skills, gross motor skills, visual motor integration and visual perception and handwriting
• OT sessions to develop social skills, emotional regulation and executive functioning skills
• OT sessions to assist in building capacity for activities of daily living
• Consultation services to develop strategies and programs to support sensory processing
• Teacher and parent training.
• Clinic and locally based pre-school and school sessions.
