ASHLEIGH LEE

Ashleigh is a high school special education teacher with experience working with a wide range of students with Anxiety, ASD, ADHD, Specific Learning Disorders, and mild intellectual disability in various settings.

Graduate Certificate in Special and Inclusive Education (The University of Notre Dame)

Ashleigh holds a Bachelor of Education (Secondary), Bachelor of Science and Graduate Certificate in Special and Inclusive Education. While completing her undergraduate degrees, she tutored Year 2 to Year 12 students in literacy, numeracy, junior science and Biology.

After graduation, Ashleigh worked as a high school science teacher where she experienced working with students with anxiety, ASD, ADHD, dyslexia and mild intellectual disability in a mainstream classroom setting. She incorporated Universal Design for Learning principles and differentiation into her lessons to ensure accessibility and achievement for learners of all abilities. She was also member of the Positive Behaviour for Learning and Numeracy committees where she collaboratively developed whole-school programs to raise student wellbeing and promote numeracy outcomes.

Currently, Ashleigh works as a high school special education teacher in an autism-specific classroom. At PosAbility, she works as an educational consultant designing and delivering individualised literacy and numeracy intervention programs which draw upon evidence-based strategies. Ashleigh believes creating safe and supportive environments, and building strong relationships is essential in helping a student achieve their goals.
