Sarah is an experienced and passionate teacher with over 25 years’ experience supporting students’ learning in a range of diverse educational settings.

Bachelor of Arts with a diploma of Education from Macquarie University

Sarah is an experienced and passionate educator with over 30 years of experience supporting student learning across a wide range of diverse educational settings. She holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Diploma of Education from Macquarie University. Throughout her career, Sarah has planned and implemented evidence-based learning programs for students of all ability levels while working as a classroom teacher, Learning Support Teacher, and Assistant Principal across ten different primary schools.

Sarah has also worked with three other charities, designing and delivering educational programs for children and young people from Kindergarten to Year 9 who are living with serious illness, experiencing mental health challenges, or in out-of-home care.

In her leadership roles, Sarah has mentored and supported teachers in the classroom and planned and delivered professional learning to build the capacity of educators across the state. While working as an Education Officer with the Curriculum Directorate, she contributed to the development of assessment programs and resource materials to support the teaching and learning of K–6 students in NSW public schools. She was also a member of the team that initiated and produced the first rollout of the Best Start Kindergarten Assessment, a diagnostic tool used to identify each child’s foundational literacy and numeracy skills upon school entry.

Sarah believes that strong relationships are the foundation of educational success. She creates a warm and welcoming learning environment and delivers purposeful, individualised lessons that help students feel safe to take on new challenges, boost self-esteem and develop confidence and success in their learning.
