Speech Therapy

Children develop speech and language skills at their own pace, but when delays or difficulties start affecting learning, confidence or connection with others, early support makes a real difference.

Our speech pathologists work with children from age 4, focusing on the skills that underpin academic learning and functional communication. Sessions are individualised and targeted, shaped around each child’s specific profile rather than a generic program.

Our Speech Therapists support

1. Phonological and articulation skills affecting early literacy
2. Receptive and expressive language — vocabulary, syntax, narrative and higher order language
3. Reading, spelling, writing and comprehension
4. Parent and teacher training to extend progress into everyday setting

How we work: Sessions run one to four times per week in 30, 45 or 60 minute blocks, either at our Lane Cove clinic or online. Frequency and duration are matched to your child’s needs and your family’s capacity.

Getting started: Before regular therapy begins, we recommend one of two starting points:

An initial consultation (one hour) includes a background history questionnaire, baseline testing against your referral questions and goals, and goal-setting within the first few sessions. A written score summary is available on request.
A standardised assessment (1.5 to 3 hours) includes a comprehensive assessment of speech, language, literacy and higher order language skills, with a written report and recommendations.
Both pathways give us — and you — a clear picture of where your child is, where they’re heading, and what support will make the most difference.
